Flat Balance Rope Glands

Reliance Barker Davies offers several gland designs for flat balance ropes. Certain applications require the temporary suspension of flat balance ropes during rope-up activities. RBD flat balance rope glands operate in a similar fashion to a typical wedge gland. However, the oversized tapered wedges are guided by roller bearings. The pair of wedges grips the flat rope in order to suspend the rope through static friction. Each design is tailored to the particular rope construction and desired working load limit (WLL).
