Suspension & Maneuvering Glands
Drum Glands
Reliance Barker Davies offers Drum Glands for the purposes of terminating and securing the hoist rope on various drum winders. These glands are designed to be exceptionally robust, as they are intended to be the last means of protection if a drum is unwound too far.
A Drum Gland is typically affixed to the “cheek plates” of a drum winder by using high-precision machined bolts. Depending on the application, RBD Drum Glands can be designed with a non-zero rope entrance angle. Typically, this angle does not exceed 3°.
RBD Drum Glands are commonly designed with a static factor of safety of 5:1 and are typically proof-load tested at 2 x WLL (working load limit).
